The Bahamas are a group of islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the Florida coast. The islands are of volcanic origin and consist of coral reefs, white sand beaches and crystal clear sea water. The main island is New Providence, where the capital Nassau is located. The Bahamas is a popular vacation destination for sunbathers, divers and water sports enthusiasts.
